House of Representatives member, representing Katsina federal constituency, Hon. Shiek Umar has
died after a brief illness.
In a report published by Vanguard, the lawmaker died of a heart related disease.
Confirming the report to newsmen, Alhaji Saudaki Abubaker, an elder brother to the deceased, said that the late legislator passed on at the early hours of yesterday and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
On a visit to sympathize with the family of the Late Hon. Umar, Katsina state deputy governor, Mannir Yakubu described the deceased as a honest, devoted gentle man whose death would be greatly missed by both members of his family and Nigeria in general.

Hon. Shiek Umar, who was re elected on platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had served in the same position from 2011 to date.
