Chocolate City Group has confirmed the stepping down of Audu Maikori as its CEO. The stepping down of the label executive and lawyer comes 10 years after forming the record label that has gone on to become one of the biggest in not just Nigeria but the across the African continent.
The stepping down today of Audu is a follow up to the announcement made by M.I at Nigerian Entertainment Conference on April 22, 2015. Back then, no day was announced other than the announcement that Audu would step down in June.
In a number of tweets a few minutes ago today, June 30, 2015, Audu made it known that he is stepping down as CEO/President of Chocolate City Group with immediate effect.
In Audu’s place, M.I who was Vice President of Choc City, becomes the new CEO while fellow rapper and label mate, Ice Prince become Vice President.
