Even since Cash Money Records exists, Birdman and Slim have had legal issues with artists or other companies whom they own money.
Mismanaging members of their own roster is one of the main reason most of the former signees have left the imprint. Just take a look at Busta Rhymes’ or Bow Wow’s respective stays under CMR’s wing. Nothing else, but complete fiascos.
Lil Wayne continues his legal war with Baby and has reportedly filed new docs. In the papers, he is claiming Birdman and Cash Money have taken the careers on Drake and Nicki Minaj – both signed to Young Money – so lightly that the Canadian rapper and Meek Mill’s girlfriend might actually leave the Tunechi-helmed daughter label once they complete their contractual obligations.
We all know what will happen if Drake and Nicki part ways with Young Money. Being two of the top artists in the industry, their potential departure must be Wayne’s biggest nightmare.
