Not fewer than six former students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, made the list of winners for the annual President’s National
Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Award held at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, on Monday.

The award, which was to recognize the impact of the spersonal community development service project on the societies in which the awardees served the nation during the one year compulsory NYSC, witnessed a total of 164 youths out of the 613 names submitted across the states being honoured by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

LAUTECH graduates who made the honours list include Olawoore Olaniyi (Civil Engineering, 2011), from Oyo State; Jegede Solomon (Nursing, 2010), from Ondo; Ajibola Oluwatosin (Medicine, 2010), from Ondo; Bello
Charles (Microbiology, 2010), from Kwara; Ibechodo Nancy (Pure and Applied Biology, 2011), Imo and Olaniyi Aliyu (Physiology, 2010), from Osun.

Beyond plaques, cash and medals presented to the awardees, the President promised them
automatic Federal employment and foreign scholarship of their education for Masters and Ph. D programmes.
