Voters who registered to cast their votes in places away from their residences, had been barred by the police from proceeding to their polling units in some parts of Kaduna State.

Some of the voters told the News Agency of Nigeria on phone that security personnel prevented them from proceeding to their polling centres.
Barry Joseph who lives in Kudan said he was stopped from going to his polling unit in Kujama tobcast his vote.
Helen John who lives in Television area of Kaduna, also complained that she was prevented from going to cast her vote at her unit in Kakuri by security agents stationed at Command Junction in Kaduna.
John James, who lives at Goningora, said he had registered at Angwan Boro, but was also prevented from getting to the place by security personnel at the command junction.
The police spokesperson in the state, Zubairu Abubakar, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the action of the security personnel, was in error.
He promised that the police would sort out the problem.
Meanwhile, election officials arrived Vice President Namadi Sambo’s polling unit at about 11 a.m.; three hours behind the scheduled commencement time for accreditation.
Security and several aides of the Vice President, as well as voters who arrived the unity earlier, had to wait patiently for the arrival of the officials at Ward 5, Kabala Doki in Kaduna.
